One of the most effective ways of ensuring a building up reading skills in people is by introducing them to reading aloud when they are children. This not only builds knowledge but also cultivate a culture of reading in an individual as they grow to adulthood. This activity provides knowledge and skills in reading. Books can be a source of an exciting experience, which give children treasured and pleasant feeling through the reading aloud exercises. Such books provide adequate contextual information that help children understand their surrounding, comprehend what they hear, see and probably read. Adults have an opportunity to act as role models to children as they help them in reading aloud. In this way, children are likely to be more enthusiastic as they are introduced to books with information they could not have found on their own.

In helping the children with reading aloud, adults need to be creative enough to capture their attention. Some other techniques could be pausing as you read to bring about suspense, where the children can keep guessing what might happen next. The book can be read for as long as their attention is won.

Young children like to hear anything with familiar voices. They are however more attracted to nursery rhymes and rhythms. They enjoy board books that have got bright pictures with solid backgrounds. Most of these board books are structured in this manner, to win the attention of the target age.

When children are old enough to hold things, it is the ideal time to introduce them to brightly color read aloud books. These books should normally contain at most two pictures on a page. These age brackets are interested in bright images which are altogether familiar to them. Some other techniques applied could be having sentences read halfway to make the children finish lines or by making sure they repeat phrases.

Preschooler get motivated by their skills and achievements in read-aloud exercises. They are sharp, inquisitive and thoughtful. Mostly, the children are keen on topics of the read aloud as long as they match their interests. Young as they could be, they are much aware about what surround them. Books that present new ideas could not only be interesting but also beneficial to them.

Children in their process of growth are also learning. Therefore, the pictures and content they interact with in the read aloud materials should influence they behavior. It should promote behavioral development and influence their view towards difficulty by showing them how to manage and deal with problems in life. Being attentive to current issues, junior magazines should be availed to accomplish the needs of the kids.
